Common Questions
Before you reach out
How are your fees structured?
It depends on the engagement type. Fractional CISO retainers are priced on a monthly basis, typically ranging from $5,000 to $15,000/month depending on hours and scope. Project-based engagements — such as security assessments, AI governance frameworks, or technology evaluations — are priced on a fixed-fee basis, typically ranging from $15,000 to $75,000. We are transparent about fees at the start of every conversation.
How does a Fractional CISO engagement work?
We start with a no-obligation discovery call to understand your current security posture, team structure, and objectives. From there, we propose a tailored engagement scope — typically a 3-month initial term with monthly renewals. You get a dedicated senior advisor available for a defined number of hours per month, plus on-call access for time-sensitive issues.
Do you work with organizations outside the United States?
Yes. Approximately 20% of our engagements serve organizations based in Canada, the UK, and Western Europe. We have particular experience with GDPR, DORA, and EU AI Act compliance considerations. All engagements are conducted remotely unless on-site work is specifically scoped.
Can you work alongside our existing technology teams or SI partners?
Absolutely. We frequently work alongside systems integrators, internal IT teams, and executive steering committees. Our role is to provide trusted advisory and security leadership — not to displace your existing partners. We are always explicit about the boundaries of our scope.
What if we're not sure what kind of engagement we need?
That's exactly what the discovery call is for. We'll listen to your situation and give you an honest recommendation — including whether a full engagement makes sense, or whether a lighter-touch advisory arrangement would better fit your current needs and budget.
How do you handle potential conflicts of interest?
We maintain a formal conflict-of-interest policy reviewed at every engagement intake. We will disclose any prior relationship with vendors under evaluation and, where a conflict cannot be managed, we decline the engagement. We accept no vendor compensation in any form — our only financial relationship is with our clients.
